Who doesn't love an apple? Delicious, crunchy, healthy and full
of vitamins and minerals, apples are a fabulous fruit. Apples come
in many colors and flavors; including Red Delicious, Granny Smith
and Fuji. Apples are a great snack all by themselves and great for
cooking. They are low in calories and have no saturated fat. This
fruit has Vitamin C, anti-oxidants, potassium and calcium. These
make the apple a good way to prevent infections, lower cholesterol
and control heart rate and blood pressure. Which is why people say
"an apple a day keeps the doctor away!"
Apples are available all year long. They are serves a number of
ways, but always without seeds. If you leave the skin on, you will
get even more health benefits. You can use apples in desserts,
jams, salads and more.
